Blackheath Ward Assembly September 2009
At the Blackheath Ward Assembly it was agreed that the Assembly will allocate money from the Community Fund to four projects.
The projects are :
1. English for speakers of other languages.
2. Equipment for the community centre in Lethbridge Close.
3.Youth diversion at the Ahoy Centre sailing course for young people
4.A children’s playground in Baizdon Road.
Full details should be on the local assemblies section of the Council’s website.
The Assembly still has about £9,000 from the Community Fund plus £10,000 from the Locality Fund. The Council has informed us that because it can take three months for the Mayor to approve decisions made by the Assembly, all the Community Fund money not allocated at our last meeting (i.e. £9,015) may be lost.
We have called on the Mayor to exercise his discretion and allow Blackheath Assembly to decide how to spend the remaining money at our next meeting on Saturday, November 21st. Nominations for projects that will benefit the community are welcomed
